That "describe yourself in 3 fictional characters" meme is currently going around Facebook and other places, so I drew this piece to go with it.
I guess I could come up with three characters I relate to, but I feel I really only need one - Remus Lupin has a special place in my heart. I remember reading The Prisoner of Azkaban years ago and being so surprised at how I saw myself so much in a fictional character; it had never happened before and I don't think it has really happened since. It's hard to describe that special connection I felt then but I guess I relate to Remus' introverted and level-headed personality, coupled with his kindness and desire to be liked and included.
As for this illustration itself, it was really fun to revisit this character! I haven't tried drawing Remus in a couple years at least, but I fell right back into it. His movie portrayal was okay (I liked it best in 5) but this is my image from reading the books. ^^

I usually don't comment on fan art, but I love this illustration of Lupin so much 
He is my favorite character overall in the HP stories, and one of my most loved characters ever. I really love the way that you drew him, his sort of gentle, even meek, expression and the faded but visible scars. His hair style is great as well, honestly this is very similar to how I imagined him myself. I had to click on it once I saw the thumbnail
